Donald Trump is filing a libel suit against The Wall Street Journal over its new Epstein reporting, as Trump’s DOJ files a motion to unseal grand jury testimony about Epstein. MSNBC’s Antonia Hylton reports,
JD Vance: The vice president tweeted that the Journal “should be ashamed for publishing” the report, calling it “complete and utter bullshit” while criticizing the paper for failing to publicize the letter or show it to the White House before writing about it. “Does anyone honestly believe this sounds like Donald Trump?” Vance wrote.
Trump has threatened to sue The Wall Street Journal after it published a report on Thursday describing a sexually suggestive letter bearing his name and a typewritten message in an outline of a naked woman. The newspaper said the letter was included in a 2003 album for the disgraced financier’s 50th birthday.
For a president known for punching back at critics, his move to release more Epstein records is a notable instance of bowing to their demands.
