NEW YORK (AP) — Irv Gotti, the boisterous, smiley music mogul who founded Murder Inc. Records and was behind major hip-hop and R&B artists, has died. He was 54.

Irv Gotti, the famed music producer ... Gotti, a Hollis, Queens native, co-founded early 2000s rap stalwart Murder Inc. Records, which housed multi-platinum acts such as Ja Rule and Ashanti.
