A viral video has made "Dubai Chocolate" a global case. With more than 120 million views, it has exploded demand for pistachios, causing a real shortage. Supplies are running low and prices are soaring globally.

Instantly recognisable by its vibrant green filling, TikTokers flooded the platform with enthusiastic taste tests of the bar, which is sold exclusively in the UAE. Many also began rating dupes and attempting homemade recreations. The traditional recipe features milk chocolate, the shredded pastry known as kataifi, and a pistachio cream filling.

Last year M&S's chunky chocolate bar known as the Big Daddy, which is filled with caramel, peanut butter and roasted peanut pieces, went viral, with many people hailing it the UK's answer to the Dubai chocolate bar. The Dubai chocolate is a chocolate bar made with pistachio and kadayif, a thin shredded filo pastry.
