Areas in north and west Alabama have a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather today. A Level 1 risk means that isolated severe storms will be possible. Any stronger storm that develops could bring along with it wind gusts up to 60 mph, hail and heavy rain. Tornadoes are not expected, according to the National Weather Service.

Survey teams with the National Weather Service confirmed 5 EF-1 tornadoes as well as an EF-0 tornado during severe weather between Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6. Five people were injured in the Tuscumbia tornado, according to NWS.
