The U.S. Justice Department has begun an investigation into the admission policies of five California universities to see if any still employ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practices.

The latest action comes after the U.S. Department of Education said it was investigating 52 universities for alleged racial discrimination earlier this month.

The Trump administration is investigating four California universities for allegedly considering race in admissions, three decades after the state banned affirmative action at public institutions.
