SAMHSA, pronounced SAM-sa, is responsible for managing the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, which has fielded nearly 200,000 calls, texts and chats just in Wisconsin since its launch in July 2022.

Those services include their 24-hour helpline and serving as a 988 call center. Since New Vista became a certified 988 call center, Miller says they’ve seen a steady increase in calls.
