Santiniketan, West Bengal has been inscribed on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites during the ongoing 45 th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Santiniketan, a town located in West Bengal’s Birbhum district, set up by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore on September 17 made it to the UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Santiniketan has been recommended for inclusion in the Unesco World Heritage List by an international advisory body, Union minister for culture and tourism G Kishan Reddy has said.
