Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has backed President Donald Trump’s proposal for the United States to “take over” Gaza, as his defense minister instructed the Israeli military to draw up a plan to would enable the “voluntary departure” of Palestinian residents in Gaza.

Israel has begun prep for the departure of large numbers of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip in line with Trump's plan.

Trump said the U.S. would take over the war-ravaged Gaza Strip and develop it economically after Palestinians are resettled elsewhere, actions that would shatter decades of U.S. policy toward the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
