The lawmakers, Abtisam Mohamed and Yuan Yang, said they were “astounded” by the decision to refuse them entry.

Israel detained the two British members of parliament and refused entry to the officials who were visiting as part of a parliamentary delegation, British foreign minister David Lammy said in a statement late on Saturday. The MPs are Labour’s Yuan Yang and Abtisam Mohamed.

The Israeli military had previously asserted that the workers had been “advancing suspiciously” toward its troops. A video obtained by The New York Times on Friday appeared to contradict that account.

The video was recorded on a phone by one of the 15 deceased ambulance and relief team members killed by the Israeli military, PRCS said.
