There are several useful choices for oaths, the paladin archetypes, that tie in nicely with your character and the type of paladin you want to be. Sometimes betrayal is more fun than loyalty.

It is also far too late for D&D content that was previously released, including the Paladin class in Baldur’s Gate 3 and the character Xenk Yender from Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
