The Minnesota Vikings completed their offensive line overhaul by selecting Ohio State guard Donovan Jackson 24th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. Head coach Kevin O'Connell made a directive for the offensive interior to be improved after the Vikings allowed a playoff-record nine sacks on Sam Darnold in their first-round loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

The Vikings could have traded down in Round 1, but they didn't want to risk missing out on Jackson, who could step in as an early starter.

Perhaps no team is as perennially hard to pin down as the Minnesota Vikings, however. The Vikings finally pivoted away from the "sure thing" at quarterback last offseason, favoring a lottery-ticket gamble on Sam Darnold rather than an expensive commitment to the aging Kirk Cousins.
