During many a morning Sisyphean task, the phrase ‘Time to make the donuts’ has been uttered. Ad hero Fred the Baker (played by actor Michael Vale) spent 15 years waking up to make donuts for us.

It’s considerably more damaging for the WSL, at a key stage of its growth, to endure a boring season. This isn’t to say women’s football is struggling. But the good ‘products’ are elsewhere.
