Meta announced at Connect 2021 that it was working with Rockstar Games to bring GTA: San Andreas to Quest 2, giving players a new perspective on the nearly 20 year-old game.

While GTA: San Andreas has of course been ported to different video game platforms before, this new version of the popular action adventure game will be the first time the title is playable in VR.

The VR iteration of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has been delayed indefinitely at Meta. In case you forgot, Meta announced all the way back in 2021 that it was working on a VR version of San Andreas.

The last we heard about was at Connect 2023 when Meta told Road to VR it didn’t have “any updates to share on GTA: San Andreas.” So, is it cancelled, or is Meta just playing it tight-lipped?
