Another arctic blast has sent temperatures plummeting across the United States, bringing “life-threatening” wind chills and dangerous cold to millions of Americans while yet another winter storm unleashes heavy snow across a wide swath of the country.

As cold air moves into the Big Country Tuesday, residents can expect extreme cold temperatures in the coming days. According to the National Weather Service, the region is under an extreme cold warning until noon Thursday due to movement from a strong cold front.

An arctic blast will strike Austin from Tuesday night until at least Friday, the National Weather Service's Central Texas office said.
