It's official: USC women's basketball guard JuJu Watkins is the 2024-25 Wooden Award winner. Watkins, who was announced as the winner of college basketball's most prestigious award on Saturday, beat out UConn's Paige Bueckers, UCLA's Lauren Betts, Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo, Texas' Madison Booker and Kentucky's Georgia Amoore for the honor.

The Southern California sophomore guard won the John R. Wooden Award as the nation's outstanding women's basketball player on Saturday. She beat out UConn's Paige Bueckers, who won in 2021, by 46 votes. Watkins was honored as the The Associated Press player of the year on Friday.

USC sophomore JuJu Watkins, who averaged 23.9 points while leading the Trojans to their best season in 40 years, is the AP women's college basketball Player of the Year.
