The Sacramento Kings are finalizing a deal to make Doug Christie their new head coach, a league source told UPI on Tuesday.

It appears the Sacramento Kings have already settled on their head coach.ESPN's Shams Charania first reported Tuesday that the team was finalizing a contract with Doug Christie, the Kings' interim coach this past season.

"The Sacramento Kings and interim coach Doug Christie are finalizing a multiyear contract to make Christie the franchise's next head coach," Shams Charania of ESPN said in a post on X. "Christie's agent, Andy Miller of Klutch Sports, negotiated a new deal for the Kings' full-time job this week."
