Nearly 30 years after Adam Sandler first introduced us to the hockey player-turned-golfing legend, the sequel is serving up a double shot of nostalgia and fresh laughs — and fans can’t get enough.

Adam Sandler has paid tribute to his late “Grown Ups” co-star with a thoughtful scene in “Happy Gilmore 2,” which premiered on Netflix on Friday. The blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment comes early in the new sequel, when Sandler’s titular character approaches a check-in booth before starting a round of golf.

Carl Weathers’ Chubbs Peterson was also slated to return, until the actor died last year. So this film features the character’s son Slim Peterson (Lavell Crawford), who, like his father, sports a prosthetic hand that has an inconvenient propensity for falling off.
