Connor Joe, a former West Coast Conference Player of the Year at the University of San Diego, has signed a one-year deal with the Padres.

Connor Joe is going home, signing a one-year contract with the San Diego Padres. Joe hit .228 with nine homers and 36 RBIs in 123 games for Pittsburgh last year.

The Padres were reportedly busy on Friday addressing their lack of depth in left field. San Diego and outfielder/first baseman Connor Joe are near an agreement on a contract, a source told MLB.com’s AJ Cassavell.
