Susan Crawford has won an open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, securing the court’s liberal wing another two years in the majority.

Voters will decide whether to amend the Wisconsin Constitution to require photo identification to vote. Wisconsin law already requires voters to show identification, but passage of this Republican-backed ballot question would make it harder for that requirement to be removed by the courts or the legislature.

Voters across Wisconsin on Tuesday cast ballots in the state's Supreme Court race, which has drawn national eyeballs and the attention of President Donald Trump.

The April 1 election in Wisconsin includes a state Supreme Court and superintendent election, a referendum on voter ID and plenty of local races.

Democratic candidate Gay Valimont says it's time "to do something big "and "do it now" to push back on the Trump administration.
