In cold weather, the NOAA said that adding layers will help keep you warm. They suggest two to three layers on top with an outer layer that can keep out wind, wet snow and rain.

You can encourage your child to think about the weather and their plans for the day by asking lots of questions about what they might wear. Does it look cold enough for them to need a coat?
