A Long Island firefighter ran into a burning Chabad to save a sacred Sefer Torah from the flames on Wednesday -- as members of the local Jewish community raced to the scene in prayer.

Six Flags America in Bowie, Maryland, is closing this year after its owner determined it was "not a strategic fit with the company’s long-term growth plan." Fox Business.

The Long Island firefighter who saved a sacred Sefer Torah from a burning Chabad on Wednesday said he was no “super hero” and was just doing what he was trained to do.

For now, the Maryland parks are the only ones on the chopping block. Six Flags America recently held its opening day on April 12 while Hurricane Harbor opens May 24 and remains open through Sept. 7.
