The Portland area was hit with significant snowfall — up to a foot in places — Saturday night into Sunday morning, adding to the already snowy conditions as a largely dry January gives way to a frosty February.

The highest totals are expected to be in Southern Maine, with many areas receiving 4-8". Temperatures will run in the upper teens to mid 20s for most, which means it will be a light and fluffy snow. Winds will not be a big issue. It may gust 15-25 mph for a bit Sunday morning, but not enough to cause many problems.
