Active combat operations are ongoing in the Kursk region. Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces repelled 35 enemy attacks, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports. According to the morning update from the General Staff,

Russian troops fighting in Kursk have reached the Ukraine border area, Moscow claimed on Friday. The Kremlin’s defence ministry said its forces recaptured the village of Gogolevka, which is just four miles from the Ukrainian border.

Russia has been trying since August last year to eject Ukrainian forces from Kursk after Kyiv's troops mounted a surprise incursion that embarrassed President Vladimir Putin and which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy hoped would give him a bargaining chip in any future talks.
