After an early morning shooting at the Pavonia/Newport station, most PATH service between Journal Square and Hoboken resumed at 8:47 a.m., according to PATH Alerts.

As a result of the police activity, PATH service had been suspended in both directions between Journal Square and Hoboken until around 8:50 a.m. The Newport/Pavonia station reopened around 10:20 a.m.

Commuters stuck at the Pavonia-Newport station can use the PATH system, which will take them to Hoboken. It is believed that this morning's high winds caused the windows to break.

Take the PATH train to Pavonia/Newport or Exchange Place station and transfer to the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail traveling toward E. 34th St. or West Side Ave. Exit at the Liberty State Park Station.

The leaves of this pavonia, also somewhat unusual, are typically 4-to-6 inches long, less than an inch wide, and held stiffly in a near-horizontal position.

Take the PATH train to Pavonia/Newport or Exchange Place station and transfer to the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail traveling toward E. 34th St. or West Side Ave. Exit at the Liberty State Park Station.
