In the summer of 1953, Milwaukee County Stadium hosted seven nights of performances by the Ice Capades. Staging an ice show in the middle of July took some doing — and more than 100 tons of ice.

On Friday morning, their mascots brought Valentine's Day love to Milwaukee Public Market customers and crew. Bernie Brewer carried around a bouquet made up of individual red roses to give away.
