Two Mesopotamian sculptures from around 2112-2004 B.C., included in “She Who Wrote,” an exhibition at the Morgan Library & Museum.
Emerging from communities on the banks of the Tigris, in present-day Iraq, the Assyrians had conquered Babylon and Egypt and ruled in the Mesopotamian region from around 1300-600 B.C.
