Men wearing skirts started way back before women began putting them on. The piece of cloth around the man’s waist has been in existence for centuries and it’s a symbol of masculinity.

Men of all ages have been gathering on the streets of Taiwan wearing skirts, as part of events organised to challenge gender stereotypes and raise awareness of Taiwan's long-awaited marriage bill.

Some men in the group, for instance, have donned mini-skirts to protest a senior government official’s suggestion that women should not wear short skirts on public transport to avoid being raped.
