Draco, a type of lizard that lives in trees in Southeast Asia, has evolved flaps of skin on its flanks. When opened, they extend the width of its body, enabling it to glide gracefully through the air.
The green basilisk lizard is also called a plumed or double-crested basilisk; but its amazing ability to run on water gives this species its most recognizable moniker: the Jesus Christ lizard.
