Jesus is the Good Shepherd because of His concern for the sheep − “I am the good shepherd; I know My sheep and My sheep know Me” (vs. 14).
Jesus loves to be identified as the Good Shepherd; and in the Gospel of today, He describes Himself metaphorically as the Gate. He is the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for His sheep.
So, today, may you know Jesus, the Good Shepherd, and hear his voice. May you listen to him and follow him, and may you fulfil his calling to be like him and be a shepherd for him.
