Heavy snow is expected in Idaho Falls and surrounding cities on Thursday, with a foot of snow possible. According to the National Weather Service, most of eastern Idaho is under a winter storm watch.

Public Works Departments across Southern Idaho are keeping an eye on the weather in the event of prepping the roads overnight.

A gigantic avalanche took place to cause a highway in the Gem State to close, and it remains closed as of this writing.
