FREEHOLD, N.J. - Freehold Raceway, the oldest horse racing track in the country, will close in December after 170 years. It will mean the end of an era in New Jersey.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, on Route 9 in Freehold. Masoud Salib, 61, and his 52-year-old wife Hanaa Salib, both of Marlboro, passengers in the Honda, were killed.
