Freedom Elementary was 92 students over capacity (117%) during the 2022-23 school year; enrollment is projected to rise to 673 students by the time the project is completed in summer of 2027.

The Sykesville Middle project will cost about $19.1 million, adding 14 classrooms, and will be finished by the start of the 2028 school year, according to construction documents.
