The Carnival Pride is a beautiful, ornately designed ship. They call it Beaux Arts, but it’s really an amalgam of several different styles, including Renaissance and Art Deco.

On paper and on Carnival's Web site, Cabin 4226 seemed ideal: It had a big balcony and was located near the back of the ship next to the largest suites, which meant more privacy.

We did love being able to watch the ocean from the picture window of our Ocean View room, though. Room 2474 on Carnival Splendor is at the corner of the ship, with a different layout to most cabins.

The pilot program will begin on April 12 on the Carnival Imagination, Carnival Conquest and Carnival Pride, and could be expanded to other ships depending on guest reaction, the cruise line said.
