If you take a 5-month perspective (January 2025 over Aug 2024), active equity funds, hybrid funds and solutions funds; have all lost AUM share while active debt funds have gained AUM share. This is on account of the September 2024 peak effect.

Inflows into India's equity mutual funds declined slightly in January from the previous month, as a drop in buying in the sectoral and thematic funds overpowered rising traction of largecaps, data released on Wednesday showed.

Looking back, value mutual funds attracted Rs 22,757 crore in inflows in 2024, almost double the amount seen in 2023 driven by strong returns. On average, these funds delivered returns of over 21 per cent in 2024, with nearly 20 per cent returns over the past three years, according to industry data.

Equity Mutual Fund inflows declined marginally by 3.6% in January 2025, settling at Rs 39,687.78 crore compared to Rs 41,155.91 crore in December 2024, data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) on February 12 showed.
