Their perfect season ended Saturday, but the defending champs might be better than last year, with one notable weakness.
Right now, Alissa Pili is the only Utah product playing in the WNBA. But with her former Utes head coach, Lynne Roberts, now coaching in the league with the Los Angeles Sparks, she thinks that means more Utes could be joining her in the W in the future.
On Sunday, Copper played her first game of the season and helped the Mercury with a 76-70 win over the Las Vegas Aces. The four-time All-Star finished the game with 11 points and two rebounds on a limited 17 minutes of action. Since she's coming off surgery, head coach Nate Tibbetts did not give her a longer time on the floor.
