The 33-year-old Mamdani and his bride, Rama Duwaji, 27, first hosted their engagement and wedding ceremony in Dubai back in December.

The celebrations took place at the Mamdani family's expansive property in the upscale Buziga Hill neighbourhood outside Kampala. The area is home to some of Uganda’s wealthiest, with surrounding properties reportedly valued at over $1 million.

Rama Duwaji, a 27-year-old artist and animator, has been thrust into the spotlight as her husband Zohran Mamdani this week became the likely Democratic candidate for mayor of New York City.
