Ruidoso officials gave a preliminary report today announcing three deaths, three injuries, and roughly 50 homes were lost to the flash flooding.

Ruidoso officials announced in a Thursday morning news conference that they fear more rain on Saturday may bring flooding to the area again. "The threat of rain is imminent," Ruidoso Mayor Lynn Crawford said.
There will be no more horse races at Ruidoso Downs for 2025, after flood waters ravaged the race track for the second year in a row.
Ruidoso officials are offering conflicting explanations for silent outdoor warning sirens during flooding that resulted in three deaths.
But none of that appears to overwhelm Crawford or, by all accounts, the roughly 7,600 people he represents. "A lot of it is rebuilding and maintaining," he said.
