Manchester United are leading Chelsea in the race to sign Ipswich star Liam Delap. Young English striker Delap is expected to be at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war this summer, with United and Chelsea leading the race and the likes of Newcastle holding a weaker hand.

United are said to have identified Delap as one of their primary transfer targets, with Ruben Amorim keen to sign a top-tier forward. The move towards Delap came after claims that co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe informed Amorim that United could not meet the £80million asking price for Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres.

The Europa League has been kind to Ruben Amorim but unfortunately Manchester United still have their cursed Premier League season to finish and they've lost again at Old Trafford.
