Gage Wood wasn't able to complete the perfect game as he did end up hitting two batters. However, he still threw seven perfect innings, which is the most by a pitcher in the College World Series since 1999.

LSU left-hander Kade Anderson's masterclass performance on Saturday night at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha (Neb.) lifted the Tigers to a 4-1 College World Series win over Arkansas. Anderson fired 7.0 innings of work with seven strikeouts while limiting the Razorbacks to one run during his time on the bump.

Day 4 of the Men's College World Series kicked off with a David-and-Goliath matchup as No. 3 Arkansas defeated unseeded Murray State with some history by Razorbacks right-hander Gage Wood. UCLA and LSU met in a presumably more even clash in the second half of Monday's doubleheader.
