四月鱼是愚人节众多恶作剧之一。它源自法语的“poisson d’avril”，意思是“四月的鱼”。人们常会把纸鱼偷偷粘在别人的背上作为玩笑，因为鱼象征年轻稚嫩，容易上当受骗。而背上被粘了鱼的人，就被认为是轻信好骗的傻瓜。

今天是4.1，一年一度的 “愚人节”。愚人节也称万愚节，是西方社会民间传统节日，节期在每年4月1日。从时间的选择上看与“春分” (3月22日)有关，因为这期间天气常常突然变化，恰似是大自然在愚弄人类。
