The Chicago Sky suffered yet another ugly loss in their WNBA season against the New York Liberty on Tuesday night, falling 85-66 on the road to drop to 2-6 on the year. The Sky recorded nearly as many turnovers (22) as field goals (28) in a forgettable game that still saw star Angel Reese enjoy an efficient shooting night.
Angel Reese posted a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double, but the undefeated and defending WNBA champion New York Liberty crushed the visiting Chicago Sky 85-66 on Tuesday evening.
Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky continued their struggles to begin the 2025 WNBA season, falling to 2-6 on the year. On Tuesday night, Reese and the Sky were handed an 85-66 loss by Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty.
Last month, the WNBA investigated an allegation that racist fan abuse was directed at Reese during the Sky’s 93-58 loss to Clark’s Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Clark was called for a flagrant foul on Reese in that game.
Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky fell to the Indiana Fever on Saturday night 79-52 as the Fever hit the floor without Caitlin Clark.
Sky forward Angel Reese joined Serena Williams as the only two athletes to ever be named BET Sportswoman of the Year three times.
Reese’s worst game came in the Sky’s previous meeting with the Liberty, when she scored a season-low two points on 0-of-8 shooting in a 99-74 loss in Chicago. Jones blocked two of Reese’s shots in that May 22 game, while Stewart and Nyara Sabally blocked her once apiece.
On Monday, Reese won the BET Sportswoman of the Year Award. She beat out A'Ja Wilson, Claressa Shields, Coco Gauff, Dawn Staley, Flau'jae Johnson, Juju Watkins, Sha'Carri Richardson and Simone Biles.
