Nancy, At the end of the rafting adventure, there is a section of the river where you go through class 3 rapids.(3 on a scale of 1 thru 10) Heather and I skipped this because of time constraints and we cut the trip short by about 30 minutes. We ended our trip at the base camp. If we had the time, I would have done the whole tour. Jim. our guide, told us that during the previous week, he had taken six ladies in their mid sixties on a tour. it was a good trip with no accidents or close calls. Your guide knows the river and will keep you out of danger, although you will get splashed. If you're in decent health, go for it. Cheers, Barry White P.S. - The vast majority of accidents, which are rare, occur in kayaks and canoes, not rafts.
