My husband and I are planning a trip to Blowing Rock the first week of June. We are both nearing 80 with physical disabilities. We planned to do the carriage ride but read not recommended for people with back issues. That rules us out because we have both had back surgeries. We are also unable to do the hiking. Are there any options for us to be able to see the lake and mansion? Thanks for any advice!

The property is managed by the National Park Service now and is open to the public so I would imagine so, but there may be more information on the NPS website
Does anyone know which trail to take horseback from Bass Lake to get to the manor?

Are trails open/accessible for hiking in winter if there is no snow?

I suggest you contact them directly. I know that in our area of North Carolina there are times in the winter when the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed even though local roads may be open and safe. Sorry but I just don't know the answer to your question.
