The gardens are closed until April 2020. The shop and nursery are open Monday thru Friday, Saturday morning and closed on Sunday. Check the website for more details.

Well of course it depends on what you expect / hope to get out of it.....without a doubt though, if you are truly interested in gardens and want to see an English country garden at its best then it should be on your list. Sissinghurst is nearby too - more formal and in my view without the informal passion of Dixter. More popular with the masses, Sissinghurst needs to be visited out of bank hols etc or you will be in a que!!!. Beautiful country surrounding and Rye is nearby with a number of good restaurants.
